Giving back to the community: Doug Betters at TEDxWhitefish
Doug Betters played professional football for the Miami Dolphins from 1978 to 1988. During his time with the Dolphins, he went to two Super Bowls and won the NFL Defensive Player of the Year Award in 1983. Doug was inducted into the UNR and Grizzly Hall of Fame, and in 2008 he was inducted into the Miami Dolphins’ Ring of Honor. He helped found the Whitefish Winter Classic in 1984, an organization that provides money for children in need of medical care, where he has served as president for the last 15 years.
In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event.
