Technology – Singularity 2029 – AI | Science Documentary 2020
Artificial intelligence (AI), sometimes called machine intelligence, is intelligence demonstrated by machines, in contrast to the natural intelligence displayed by humans and other animals. In computer science AI research is defined as the study of “intelligent agents”: any device that perceives its environment and takes actions that maximize its chance of successfully achieving its goals. Colloquially, the term “artificial intelligence” is applied when a machine mimics “cognitive” functions that humans associate with other human minds, such as “learning” and “problem solving”.

Could artificial intelligence ever gain true consciousness? This documentary explores what might unfold if super intelligent AI acquired consciousness, how it might see itself, and what it’s impact might be on our world and beyond.

Can A.I. make music? Can it feel excitement and fear? Is it alive? Will.i.am and Mark Sagar push the limits of what a machine can do. How far is too far, and how much further can we go?
The Age of A.I. is a 8 part documentary series hosted by Robert Downey Jr. covering the ways Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning and Neural Networks will change the world.

Developments in artificial intelligence (AI) are leading to fundamental changes in the way we live. Algorithms can already detect Parkinson’s disease and cancer, and control both cars and aircraft. How will AI change our society in the future?
This documentary journeys to the hot spots of AI research in Europe, the USA and China, and looks at the revolutionary developments which are currently taking place. The rapid growth of AI offers many opportunities, but also many dangers. AI can be used to create sound and video recordings which will make it more and more difficult to distinguish between fact and fiction. It will make the world of work more efficient and many professions superfluous. Algorithms can decide whether to grant loans, who is an insurance risk, and how good employees are. But there is a huge problem: humans can no longer comprehend how algorithms arrive at their decisions. And another big problem is AI’s capacity for widespread surveillance. The Chinese city of Rongcheng is already using an AI-supported ‘social credit system’ to monitor and assess its citizens. Does AI pose a danger to our personal freedoms or democracy? Which decisions can we leave to the algorithms – and which do we want to? And what are AI’s social implications?

CONTENT: Silicon Valley is a magnet for the world’s greatest innovators, and the truth behind its rise reveals the powerful forces that made the region what it is today.
Silicon Valley has often been imitated but never duplicated. Though pieces of its history have been told, they have focused primarily on the Valley’s role in the development of silicon chips and computers. For every decade or so since the early 1900s, Silicon Valley has spawned or nurtured not just new products but whole new industries: Vacuum tubes. Radio. Radar. Integrated circuits. Venture Capital. PCs. Printers. Genetic Engineering. Software. Networking hardware. The Internet. Social media. Cloud computing. Mobile.
The full scope and drama of the region’s evolution will be revealed in Silicon Valley 3 episode series that examines how Silicon Valley has managed to stay on the cutting edge of innovation for so long and why its success has been so difficult to duplicate. Together with its website, digital media strategy and outreach effort, it will increase public understanding of a unique region—an enduring source of innovation, entrepreneurship, and world-shaking technologies—that has captured public imagination and changed the modern world. Production of Silicon Valley: The Untold Story is possible thanks to a generous grant from The Alfred P. Sloan Foundation. The Computer History Museum will be spearheading our public engagement and educational outreach effort.

The Internet Revolution and Digital Future Technology Documentary 2018 is a tech documentary 2018.
The history of the Internet begins with the development of electronic computers in the 1950s. Initial concepts of wide area networking originated in several computer science laboratories in the United States, United Kingdom, and France.
When the Internet was invented?
ARPANET adopted TCP/IP on January 1, 1983, and from there researchers began to assemble the “network of networks” that became the modern Internet. The online world then took on a more recognizable form in 1990, when computer scientist Tim Berners-Lee invented the World Wide Web.
When did people start using the Internet?
On 6 August 1991, the World Wide Web went live to the world. There was no fanfare in the global press. In fact, most people around the world didn’t even know what the Internet was. Even if they did, the revolution the Web ushered in was still but a twinkle in Tim Berners-Lee’s eye.
When did the Internet originate?
Find out here. The internet began life in 1969, when scientists working for the US Advanced Research Projects Agency (ARPA, now known as DARPA) connected computer networks at the University of California and the Stanford Research Institute.
Which country first invented the Internet?
The internet protocols (TCP/IP) happened following initiatives takes by the US Government. The world-wide-web was invented by a British guy (while working at Cern) This brought us HTTP and websites. His work was inspired by the idea of hypertext. Hypertext as a concept had been bouncing around for a while.
What was the original purpose of the Internet?
Many people have heard that the Internet began with some military computers in the Pentagon called Arpanet in 1969. … Bob Taylor, the Pentagon official who was in charge of the Pentagon’s Advanced Research Projects Agency Network (or Arpanet) program, insists that the purpose was not military, but scientific.
